Decree-Law no. 1/2022 of 25 May approved Mozambique's New Commercial Code (Código Comercial 2022) and, with it, reformed Mozambican commercial legislation, in particular the commercial companies’ regime. Only 65 of the 554 articles of this new Code do not regulate corporate matters. Both for its normative extension and for its practical relevance, Código Comercial 2022 is, materially, Mozambique's Commercial Companies Code. Changes to the previous legislation are significant.
