When Professor António Menezes Cordeiro became professor emeritus, Professors Pedro Romano Martinez and Pedro de Albuquerque organised a collective work entitled O Pensamento Jurídico de Menezes Cordeiro to which Diogo Costa Gonçalves contributed his study Primeiras nótulas sobre o conceito de sistema em Menezes Cordeiro:
“We belong to a generation of jurists (…) who graduated in Prof António Menezes Cordeiro’s scientific maturity. We know much of the way we think and feel about law is due to his teaching. We would be a different School and certainly other jurists without his teaching. This observation is enough to mark the first lines of this study with deep gratitude, both personal and institutional.”
